Emily is a Director and Accredited Costs Lawyer at County Cost Consultants, with over 14 years of experience advising on complex, multi-track and multi-party litigation. She is known for delivering clear, commercially focused costs advice, helping clients regarding technically demanding matters with confidence and precision.
Emily specialises in all aspects of legal costs, including the preparation of detailed Bills of Costs, drafting and managing Precedent H Costs Budgets, negotiating settlements and advising on cost exposure and recovery strategy.
Her work frequently involves complex and procedurally sensitive cases, where a structured, detailed approach is critical to achieving effective outcomes. She has significant experience in handling multi-defendant matters, particularly within Industrial Disease litigation, including NIHL and asbestosis claims.
As a Director at County Cost Consultants, Emily plays a key role in shaping the firm’s approach to client service, quality assurance and strategic delivery. She works closely with instructing solicitors, providing practical guidance at every stage of the costs process. Her ability to combine technical expertise with commercial awareness ensures that clients receive advice that is not only accurate, but aligned with the wider objectives of their litigation.
Emily is also heavily involved in the development of both clients and colleagues. She regularly delivers tailored costs training and workshops, equipping legal teams with the knowledge and insight needed to manage costs effectively and avoid common procedural pitfalls.
In addition to her client work, Emily is currently in her second year as a mentor on the Women in Costs mentoring scheme. She is passionate about supporting the next generation of costs professionals and plays an active role in promoting development and greater representation within the profession.
Emily holds a Law degree (LLB) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Liverpool John Moores University. She qualified as an Accredited Costs Lawyer in 2024.
